Louise Baranger, Trumpet, was born in Hollywood, CA,  and studied with Harold "Pappy" Mitchell and Uan Rasey, two former first trumpets at the MGM Studios, as well as jazz trumpeter Bobby Shew and the legendary William Vacchiano of the New York Philharmonic.

After spending a year on the road with Harry James and his Orchestra, she worked in Las Vegas, then moved back to Los Angeles where she appeared live and in television, film, and videos with Bobby Womack, Joe Cocker, Barry Manilow, Frank Sinatra, Jr., Joan Rivers, Bobby Vinton, Helen Reddy, The 5th Dimension, The Coasters and many others.  

As a bandleader, Louise has performed at dozens of special events including Hollywood’s Emmy Awards and The Millennium New Year’s Eve Celebration at Boston’s Symphony Hall.

She has given master classes and solo performances in Japan, Argentina, Peru, Germany, and across the U.S. including performances at two presidential innaugural balls. As a private teacher many of her students have held principal chairs in CT regional and All-State honor bands, both jazz and classical. She was a faculty member at the Litchfield Jazz Camp for seven years.

Louise’s first CD, Trumpeter’s Prayer (Summit Records DCD222), features Arturo Sandoval, Frank Sinatra Jr., Carl Fontana and Steve Allen. A new CD, The Great American Groove Book is due for release in the fall of 2015.


Ulysses Torres, Tuba, holds a Bachelor of Music degree from  SUNY Purchase. He has performed with numerous brass quintets, concert bands and symphonies in the greater NY area. Ulysses currently teaches elementary school music to some very lucky young musicians in Mt. Vernon, NY.


Barbara Reineke, Horn, is an active freelance player, frequently performing in orchestras throughout Connecticut and New York including the Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra where she played the Wagner tuba in Stravinsky's "Rite of Spring". 

She has played numerous musicals at many of New England's top regional theaters including Westport Playhouse, TriArts Playhouse in Sharon, CT, and City Center in White Plains. In 2014 Barbara performed in the 90th Anniversary Concert celebration of George Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue" presented in New York City's prestigious Town Hall, by Mauricec Peress and Vince Giordano & the Night Hawks. 

On Sunday mornings Barb puts her horn down and works as the church organist at Christ the King Church in Newtown, CT.

Barbara holds a Bachelor of Music (with distinction) from the Eastman School of Music where she studied with Verne Reynolds.  


Jens Wendelboe, Trombone, is an internationally recognized award-winning composer, orchestrator, conductor and trombonist of jazz and symphonic music alike. Jens had the honor to be Music Director and conductor for Donna Summer for over 22 years. He joined the legendary group, Blood, Sweat and Tears in 2006 and was a featured member for 8 years. Jens lived in Europe for most of his life and held such prestigious positions such as Conductor and arranger of the Norwegian Radio Orchestra. He has released eleven CDs with his  Big Crazy Energy New York Band as well as The Crazy Energy Orchestra. Larry Nissman, Trumpet, received his Bachelor of Music and Arts from the University of Michigan.  He studied trumpet with the renowned Boston Symphony principal trumpet, Armando Ghitalla.  He also holds a Master Degree in Environmental science. Throughout his career Larry played on the local NYC scene with a variety of small Jazz ensembles and big bands.  He toured with the National Broadway production of Starlight Express and recorded music for TV jingles.  A versatile musician, Larry is comfortable performing in a variety of musical genres. He has performed with the legendary founder of SKA music Carlos Malcom, Cumbia star Carolina La O and is a regular member of Grupo Arcano, an NYC based salsa band.
